Yes. At Tranquility Dental Wellness Spanaway, your first visit is all about getting acquainted. We take time to learn about your dental history and the goals you have for your smile. You'll receive a thorough exam, digital X-rays, and intraoral photos so our team — and you — can see exactly what's going on. When possible, we'll complete a cleaning on the same day.

Most PPO insurance plans cover your routine exams, prophylaxis cleanings, and X-rays with minimal co-pay or out-of-pocket. We will help you maximize your dental benefits at your appointment.

Plan for about 60 to 90 minutes for your first appointment at our Spanaway office. That time allows us to connect with you personally, complete a comprehensive exam, review X-rays, and answer any questions — without ever feeling like you're being rushed out the door.

Dental X-rays are an important part of both your new patient exam and your routine oral care because they help dentists see things that cannot be detected through a visual exam alone. They provide early, detailed information that allows us to detect decay, infections, bone loss, and other issues early before they become painful or costly to treat.

We do our best to include a cleaning at your first visit when your oral health allows it. If we find signs of gum disease or anything that needs more focused attention, we may schedule the cleaning separately at our Spanaway office so we can give you the most appropriate level of care.

Cleanings shouldn't be painful and we work gently and can make adjustments or use numbing gel to ensure you are comfortable during your dental cleaning.

Dental anxiety is something many of our patients experience, and we take it seriously. It is very possible to get whitening or cosmetic work started quickly.  We first make sure your teeth and gums are healthy. Once any necessary restorative treatment is completed, we can plan whitening and other cosmetic options.

Yes. At our Spanaway location, you're welcome to request a specific provider when booking. We'll do our best to match you based on availability, and if you're unsure, our front desk team is happy to help find the right fit for you.

Yes. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation for patients who want extra help relaxing. We can discuss which option is best for you during your first consultation and visit.
